Aaron Ramsey linked.

Wenger has also been hugely impressed by the impact of Cardiff's 17-year-old midfield player Aaron Ramsey. The teenager has looked completely at ease during Cardiff's run to the FA Cup Final.

This is probably more like the signing that The Arsenal can afford,

Raul Albiol has emerged at the top of Arsene Wenger's summer shopping list.

The 22-year-old Valencia centre-back, who can also operate as a midfield holding player, has broken into the Spain side this season.

Albiol, who is rated in the £10million bracket, can provide the power Arsenal missed in the run-in to their trophy-less campaign.

He fits the Gunners' blueprint of emerging young players who manager Wenger can develop alongside the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie.

Kuzmanovic to Arsenal ?

ARSENE WENGER is close to sealing a £5million deal for Serbian midfield ace Zdravko Kuzmanovic.

Reports in France suggest Arsenal FC are set for a move for Olympique Lyonnais wonder kid Clement Grenier dubbed the new ‘Kaka’ by his goals, composure, skills and movement.

Despite being 17, with all his talent the youngster has failed to break into the Lyon U18’s, and is very unsettled and said he looks to be transfered in the summer and this is where Arsenal Step in.

He told French Radio Station ’Radio Monté Carlo’ ” Why not. Arsenal are a very good club with young French players as my self and a French Manager being in my eyes the best manager in the world. To work under a manager like Arsene Wenger would be a dream. Arsenal give young players like me a chance and i would be honoured to defend the Arsenal colours”.

Lyon offered Grenier a four year pro contract in early February but he declined as he looks forward to a transfer to Emirates Stadium.

Loic Perrin to join as Flamini replacement.

Arsenal are still awaiting a response from Mathieu Flamini to a new contract offer and The Gunners could turn to St Etienne captain Loic Perrin should the Frenchman depart the club.

Perrin has been recommended to Arsene Wenger by The Gunners’ French scout Gilles Grimandi and is valued in the region of £5 million by his Ligue 1 employers.

Reports in Thursday’s media suggest Perrin has been targeted as a contingency plan should Flamini decide to leave Arsenal in the summer.

Yassine Chikhaoui to The Arsenal.

The best player I have ever seen at FC Zürich seems destined to go to my Arsenal.

Seems like every player who can do a decent step-over is the new Zinedine Zidane these days. But Chikhaoui has a more realistic claim on that crown because he has that extra something special. He can do all the technical tricks, spinning around and what not, but combines a genuine unpredictability with end product. The 21 year old has made an impressive start to life in Europe, scoring seven times in 16 appearances for FC Zurich. Now it’s time he moved to a real league.

Here's a goal he scored in the first game at the opening of the new Letzigrund Stadion, the home of FCZ. In the first minute against city rivals Grasshopper Club ( Niederhasli ).

'Croatia's Gattuso' Vukojevic could just fit the bill for Celtic as Arsenal wait in the wings

Celtic are contemplating a summer move for combative Croatian international midfielder Ognjen Vukojevic.

The Dinamo Zagreb star has emerged as a target for Gordon Strachan after rating highly in a continental search for new talent.

Capped three times for his country, Vukojevic is an uncompromising defensive holding player dubbed 'Croatia's Rino Gattuso'.

Could be that he is Flamini's replacement, as Flamini seems set to go to the team he supported as a boy, Juventus.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar signing, but won't play in 2008.

Arsene Wenger has agreed a deal with Ajax Amsterdam to buy Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in the summer, and then loan him back to Ajax for the following season, with Ajax paying his wages.
The cash-strapped Arsenal boss feels that this is the best way to secure the long-term future of The Arsenal.

Gomes to replace Lehmann.

PSV Eindhoven’s highly-rated Brazil goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is interesting Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger has been searching for a high-class keeper for some time and chief scout Steve Rowley watched Gomes in the UEFA Cup against Fiorentina on Thursday.

Lehmann is leaving in the summer, and Almunia is not good enough to be first choice, so hopefully Wenger will break the bank to sign a decent 'keeper.

Amauri to the Arsenal.

Arsenal are set to join the bidding for Palermo's in-demand striker Amauri, according to reports in Italy.

The Brazilian-born marksman, who is considering playing for Italy, has been plying his trade in Europe since 2001 after he impressed as a youth playing in the famed Viareggio Tournament.

After a brief spell in Switzerland he began his Italian adventure in 2001 and was snapped up by Palermo in 2006.

Since his move to Sicily, Amauri has became a firm fans' favourite and is now one of the most feared strikers in Serie A.

But Palermo are now ready to sell and Juventus have never hidden their desire to land him, having been leading the hunt for the past few months.

Juve and Palermo officials have met after the Sicilian outfit confirmed they wanted 25million euros (£19million) for the 27-year-old.

However, Palermo are more than open to talks with other clubs and that has opened the door to Arsenal.

It is claimed The Gunners have made Amauri's representatives aware that they would be willing to pay him 4million euros (£3.2million) - which would seemingly be a big draw for the player.

Arsenal are also now in a financial position to be able to pay the asking price and they could very well be major rivals to Juve.

Liverpool and Real Madrid, amongst others, are also believed to be keeping a close check on the situation.

Valencia striker David Villa has come out and stated his intention to join Arsenal.

He said to The Sun: “I watch the Premier League a lot and the team I’m most attracted to is definitely Arsenal. Their brilliant one and two-touch football and the whole style of rapid counter-attack which dominates the top level of the Premier League now is the one which suits my game best of all.

“I think I’m made to succeed in England but of course it’s one thing saying it and quite another getting there and then doing it.

“The Valencia president (Agustin Morera) always told me he wouldn’t sell me until summer 2008. If an offer comes in I’m hungry to test myself in England.”

Martin Caceres to The Arse ?

ARSENAL are keeping close tabs on Villarreal star Martin Caceres, 20.

The Uruguay centre-half, who is on loan at Recreativo, said: “I know Arsenal are following me.

Benzema to join The Arsenal ?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has pinpointed Karim Benzema, the Lyon striker, as the player that could make a big impact saying that he could be “an immense revelation”. He also showed that he knew a lot about the player’s performance statistics:

“I think Benzema could emerge as a big surprise. He is 20-years-old, in France he scored 11 goals in 10 games and he has fantastic efficiency”.

"But he is also a good link player, he is not only a goalscorer, and I believe he could be an immense revelation at the European Championship."

He obviously looks like a typical Wenger player who has the technique and flexibility to play in more than one position.

Benzema along with fellow Lyon player Hatem Ben Arfa have been coveted by a host of European clubs ever since they burst into Lyon’s first team.

Arsene Wenger is confident that Luca Modric will be an Arsenal player next season.

Arsene Wenger has monitored Modric for a year and sees him as a successor to Inter Milan targets Tomas Rosicky and Alex Hleb.

But Zagreb refused to sell him in the summer to quell a revolt from fans unhappy that Eduardo had joined Arsenal.

Dinamo Zagreb president Zdravko Mamic was in London for talks with several clubs including Manchester City,, Tottenham and Chelsea over the transfer of Luka Modric in December, but it is understood that he had already signed a pre-contract agreement with Arsenal when Eduardo signed, and will follow his former team-mate to the Arsenal.

Quaresma coming ? Again ?

Wenger is considering a bid for Porto winger Ricardo Quaresma.
Although Portuguese giants Porto rate the 25-year-old international winger in the region of £20million, chairman Pinto da Costa is currently being investigating into allegations of bribing referees during Jose Mourinho’s time in charge.

If they are found guilty, this is likely to result in their relegation from the Portuguese top-flight, and they would be forced to offload their star players during the summer transfer window.

Atletico Madrid and Lazio are also monitoring Quaresma’s situation, yet Arsene Wenger is determined to land one of his top targets who could be made available for as little as £5million.

Tuesday 8 April 2008

Diego Capel, the left winger from Sevilla, who has been called the new José Antonio Reyes, may be another target for The Arsenal, and manager Arsene Wenger wants to sign the 19-year-old midfielder from Sevilla for £8m.
Tottenham were interested in signing the youngster in January, but it seems that Sevilla don't want to do business with the club that stole their manager, so the odds are that he will be Wenger's first purchase in the summer, as he won't be involved in the EURO 08 Championship.
Could be a typical Wenger signing, but the memories of JAR's time at The Arsenal may persuade Wenger to go for a player more used to the harsh weather in London and the terrible food.

Juan Arango wanted by Arsena.

Cesc Fabregas has urged Arsène Wenger to sign £14m-rated attacking midfielder Juan Arango and now it appears that Wenger has sent scouts to watch the Mallorca star and they have been impressed with his scoring ability.

Tottenham tried to sign Arango, 27, in 2006. But he's now at the top of Wenger's wish-list with the growing rumours that he could lose Mathieu Flamini to Juventus in the summer. Arango has a deal with Mallorca until 2010, but the right offer would see the club cash in, and Wenger may have spare cash, as it looks like Hleb will be moving to Milan in the summer, having been very impressed with the ice-cream in the city on a recent visit.

Schweini coming to the arse ?

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is moving for Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger in a £10 million deal, who would be perfect for Arsenal's midfield deficiencies both wide left and right.

Wenger sent spy Steve Rowley to watch the German international (above) in action in midweek and is ready to offer Schweinsteiger the chance to play in London, after being tipped off that the star is keen to move to England.

The 23 year old has a fearsome shot and is a free-kick specialist, and has experience for one so young, having already played almost 50 games for the International side. Equally at ease in the centre and right as well as his natural left of midfield he makes powerful runs, deft passes and is a tireless, combative and commanding player, making him the perfect addition to Wenger's midfield.

Diego to Arsenal ?

Arsenal are one of three clubs interested in signing Werder Bremen's Brazilian playmaker Diego, according to the player's father and agent.

Diego has been one of the Bundesliga's star performers in recent seasons and has attracted the interest of a host of clubs.

The likes of Juventus, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City have been linked with the midfielder and Arsenal have now been added to his list of admirers.

Diego is under contract at Bremen until 2011 and he recently admitted his future was in the hands of the club.

The 23-year-old's representative and father Djair da Cunha claims Arsenal, Juventus and Real Madrid have made approaches for his services.

"There are a lot of rumours and all of them are not the truth," Djair da Cunha told Bild.

"But Real, Arsenal and Juve want my son.

"Juve sporting director Alessio Secco already came to Bremen to speak with Klaus Allofs."
Flamini and Hleb are off in the summer. 100% definite. AC Milan and Inter. Heard it here first.

Dirty mercenary wonkers.

Andre Ayew coming to North London ?

ARSENAL are watching £5million-rated Marseille midfielder Andre Ayew, with a view to bringing him to The Emirates.

Boss Arsene Wenger has been looking for a left-winger to strengthen his side and , with Modric apparently pricing himself out of a move, has sent scouts to watch him almost every week.

The 18-year-old left midfielder recently signed a long-term deal at Marseille and was then called up by Ghana for Africa Cup of Nations duty. His father is Marseille and Ghana legend Abédi “Pelé” Ayew.

Ideal signing for The Arsenal. He’s young, French (born there) African (Ghanaian dad) and talented.
